Warmbad Private Game Reserve
Game Lodge and Self Catering Accommodation
Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, South Africa |
|
The Warmbad Private Game Reserve derives it´s name from the unique thermal mineral springs ascending from the Swazi granite. It is one of the oldest private game reserves in South Africa and was used for centuries by the Swazis and Zulus as hunting ground.
WARMBAD Private Game Reserve is ideally situated on the N2 from Johannesburg or Kruger National Park to the Kwa Zulu North Coast of the Indian Ocean or Durban. It lies 35 km south of Piet Retief and 65 km north of Pongola.
A temperate climate throughout the year in a malaria and bilharzia free area makes this Game Reserve an unique and ideal holiday destination or half-way stop for tourists and visitors.
Since 1999 WARMBAD Private Game Reserve is managed by Diana von den Eichen und Martin Engelbrecht. They provide friendly service, individual and personal care to all guests.
The WARMBAD Private Game Reserve gives rise to a great diversity of habitats, fauna and flora and is the perfect home for a large variety of game: black and blue wildebeest, zebra, eland, blesbuck, impala, springbuck, the rare common reedbuck, kudu, nyala, bushbuck etc... About 140 species of birds have been spotted.
