In the lee of Cape Town's majestic Table Mountain stands the historic OLD CANNON BREWERY,set in splendid garden surrounds on 6000sq m, with Newlands forest as a backdrop.Home to Dr Brian & Rosemary Mc Mullen it has been graciously restored to give the discerning guest luxury accommodation in an informal atmosphere.The Old Cannon Brewery was established in 1852 and merged into Ohlsson's Cape Breweries in 1882.Gwelo Goodmann the internationally acclaimed SA artist converted it into his private residence of distinction in 1929.As a guest you will enjoy the special informal ambience experienced by such noted personalities as George Bernard Shaw,Princess Alice and the Earl of Athlone.A 12x6 m pool is adjacent to the grand drawing room which also offers an antique full size snooker table and pool bar.Security is provided for at least 10 vehicles with electronic access.
All 8 bedrooms are en-suite with extra large showers or bath and shower.Heated towel rails,cotten bed linen and generous bath sheets ensure a comfortable stay.In the winter the house is heated with underfloor heating in the bedrooms and large open log fires in the reception areas. The world renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens,Newlands Rugby stadium and Cricket ground are within 15 minutes walk.Golfers are especially welcome in a home where par is paramount.The international airport and City Centre are 15 minutes drive away.We are noted for our generous Irish breakfasts.
