In the main street but away from the town noise, on the banks of Lake St Lucia. A peaceful, tranquil garden setting managed by the owners who also lives on the property. Undercover parking on the premises, garden area for each unit separated by plants. Lots of shade in the summer and sun in winter. We are a Birder Friendly establishment. All units have access to the lake and a small jetty. The lake side has an entertainment area with a view of the lake. We have 3 joint chalets, ground floor and 2 budget flats which are part of the original house with private entrances, kitchens and bathrooms. We are just outside the Igwalagwala ingidgenous forest trail and about 5km by road to the furthest beach access parking. All shops, restaurants and market are within walking distance. We are a perfect bas to explore teh rest of the Wetland Park and other reserves. We are part of and inside the World Heritage Site. The winters are warm during the day and cold at night (7-12), best months without the humidity is May and June, very hot and humid from November to March, rainfall all year but peak in summer.
Accommodation & Facilities
Chalets are face brick walls, ceramic floor tiles (carpet in bedrooms), louvre window with mosquito gause, high wooden ceilings adn tile roof. We offer 2x 6bed units (2 bedrooms) and 1x 4 bed unit (1 bedroom). These units are ground floor with oscillating fans, own garden area with braai and garend furniture separated by plants. Bathrooms have baths and showers. Kitchens have microwave ovens, stoves fridges and deep freezers. All cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and potts are provided as well ad dishtowels and wash cloths. All units have 1 bedroom with a double bed, the second bedrooms have 2 single beds each and the other 2 beds are in the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area. The lounge areas have dining tables and lounge suites and tv's. All bed linen and bath towels are provided. The units are serviced daily. The chalets are very well equipped, neat and clean but no frills and fuss.
The budget flats are part of the house but no sharing. 6 steps to the door with 1 bedroom each and single beds. They have ceiling fans. No microwaves and deep freezers. No. 5 has a shower only and a view of the lake and garden. These units are neat, clean and non-luxury but also very well equipped. These are very popular with independent travellers and those who do not want to spend a lot on accommodation but still have all the equipment to cater self. They have tv's, lounge suites and dining tables.
Parking is at the road side on the premises, next to one another under a cover.
Outdoor Facilities
On the premises we have a swimming pool, fish cleaning zinc facility and paid laundry service weather permitting. The units are cleanded daily.
St Lucia offers hiking guided or self from 20min to 8 hours, boat trips on the lake, fishing of all sorts, in the sea, rock or charter boat, seasonal whale watching and turtle tours, lots of excellent birding (my garden list alone is 58). Cultural tours, day visits into the Wetland Park to Cape Vidal and Mission Rocks, other reserves within 1 hours drive, the beach, the sun.

Monzi golf course 9 holes just 15km away at the country club, visitors very welcome.

Cultural & Historical interest
Traditonal Zulu shows and tours through towns today, live with a family for a day or 2 while they tell you teh history of their tribe, sleep in a zulu hut, eat the food and drink the beer. Dancers to entertain you onteh beating of the drums. see a sangoma. Visit a school.

Peak season is Inland School holidays, long weekends and from 15 Decemebr to 2 Jan every year. Price is then per unit per night.
