Samburu Cottage is a separate cottage on a small protea farm in the beautiful Banhoek Valley, surrounded by magnificent mountains. Samburu offers a high level of comfort and facilities. There are three double bedrooms, en suite, with ceiling fans to cool in summer and heaters to warm in winter and the well equipped kitchen has tea and coffee making facilities. The lounge has a fireplace for cold evenings and satellite television. There are two patios allowing the guests to enjoy the fresh air and scenery for drinks and breakfast. Margie and Rob are a fund of local knowledge and like nothing more than to help their guests with ideas of what to visit, where to dine and where to indulge in outdoor activities such as golf, fishing and walking. A full breakfast is always served giving the visitor an excellent base to challenge the delights of the Winelands, Cape Town and the Overberg. Superb restaurants are situated short distances from the farm.
Accommodation & Facilities
Samburu Cottage has three double bedrooms, named after the mountains they overlook.
Jonkershoekberg:- A double bed, 2 chairs, bedside tables with lamps, dressing table, small table, luggage rack and ample cupboards with hangers. Fan and heaters. The bathroom is en suite, large and has a separate shower. It has a heated towel rail and razor plugs.
Groot Drakenstein:- Two three quarter beds otherwise as above, two bathrooms, one with shower, basin, toilet and bidet and the other with bath and basin. They have razor plugs and heated towel rails.
Simonsberg:- Two single beds otherwise the same as Jonkershoekberg, however the bathroom has a hand shower on the bath.
There is a comfortable communal lounge, well furnished, with satellite television.
There is an outdoor patio with garden furniture and wonderful views. There is also a breakfast patio with a garden atmosphere.
Outdoor Facilities
In the vicinity are many golf courses and a multitude of beautiful wine estates.
