Cultural & Historical interest
The Addo Elephant National Park was proclaimed in 1931 to protect the remaining 11 elephants from the years of decimation preceeding. The park is now home to over 400 elephants as well as other species of game including all those of the "Big Five". The region is steeped in history and the story of rehabilitation of nature is fascinating to any listener. Nearby there is also the historical town of Grahamstown as well as regional battlefields.
