On the Cliff Guest House is situated on the sea front with beautifull sea views over Walker Bay. We are in the perfect position to watch whales from the comfort of your room or balcony. All the rooms have stunning sea views and are spacious and beautifully decorated with full en suite bathrooms. The Hermanus cliff path can be accessed from our front gate and the village is a 1 km walk along the beautiful cliff path. Hermanus is known for the best land based whale watching in the world. The whale crier is unique to Hermanus, and he blows on a seaweed horn to advise where the whales are. Shark cage diving or shark viewing is offered from Gansbaai, which is about a 30 minute drive from us. Great white shark diving is extremely popular and it is advisable to prebook. The restaurants are within walking distance from the guest house. Our rooms are equiped with a TV, tea/coffee facilities, under carpet heating, finest cotten linen, toweling gowns, safe etc. Our facilities include a sauna, heated pool, gym, seperate guest lounge with fire place and bar/pub, braai/barbeque, bicycles and secure parking. Every evening before dinner, join your hosts, Charmaine and Hylton for a glass of wine in our cosy bar.

Sporting & Leisure Activities
Beaches where you can walk forever, swim safely ( lifeguards), ride horses or just soak up the sun.
Fishing- off the rocks just out the front door, the harbour is 1km away where charters leave from, the beach is 5km away where the cob wait and the lagoon is on the other side of the beach.
Diving- the new harbour has dive schools to teach or transport you to the best sites.
Golf - Hermanus golf course is an extremely good course and is about 5km from us.
Arabella is about 30km from us and is one of the top golf courses hosting the Nelson Mandela challenge and is pricey by local standards but worth the effort. There are 3 other courses within easy reach that are well worth playing if you have time and are very reasonable.
Shark cage diving can be booked through us and leaves from a small harbour across the bay.All year but with good sitings in April to August
Whale watching / viewing boats leave from the new harbour (1km) or from across the bay and also can and should be prebooked through us as it is very popular in season.Season July to November
Restaurants - there are over 50 local restaurants catering for all tastes and the food quality is of a very high standard
Wine - numerous vineyards surround Hermanus and offer tasting and sometimes lunches.
Cultural & Historical interest
The old harbour is the focal point of the village where only the whales swim in season. Whale watching is popular here and you can even watch them while drinking coffee in the local restaurants.
