Monyela Mountain Lodge is the most spectacular and highest luxury Lodge in the region. It is truly "one of a kind". Groups of 6-12 people can be accommodated both on a Catered (with prior arrangement) or self Catering basis.

The Lodge is a luxury 450 sq/m lodge/house with 5 bedrooms , 12 beds, and 4 bathrooms of which 2 are ensuite. All bedrooms have large sliding glass doors which allow for a majestic panoramic view of the lowveld and direct access to a deck or patio.

There is a fully equipped kitchen including a chest style freezer and pantry space. Towels and bed linens are provided. Self-laundry equipment is on sight. There is a Helicopter landing pad.

Monyela Mountain Lodge is ideal for Family/Corporate/Birding/nature enthusiasts/ and touring groups which travel together. There is a special appeal for those who appreciate being surrounded by the wonders of natural beauty. Its location is such that one can experience an adventure of a different activity everyday. Monyela Mountain Lodge borders on the Blyde River Canyon and Kruger National Park is within an hour’s drive.

Accommodation & Facilities
Monyela Mountain Lodge, a contemporary style 450Sq/m lodge/house adapted to the mountain side, with 5 bedrooms, 12 beds, and 4 bathrooms of which 2 are en suite. All bedrooms have large sliding glass doors which allow for a panoramic view of the lowveld and direct access to a deck or patio. The view is breathtaking and becomes most enchanting after dusk with glowing coals in the fire pit of the Boma and a magnificent show of stars overhead.
Monyela Mountain Lodge has a fully equipped kitchen including a chest style freezer and pantry space for those who choose self catering. Assistance for self catering can be arranged at R100 per day.. Full service catering must be arranged in advance.
Internet access is available through the Lodge office. There are adequate fans providing sufficient cooling.


All bedrooms have sliding glass doors leading onto either a deck or patio with stunning views across the valley overlooking the Blyde River Delta.

The accommodation consists of the following rooms:

#Master bedroom 1 on upper level - King-size bed (twin beds together) with adjoining bathroom.
#Guest bedroom 2 on lower level - King-size bed (twin beds together) with adjoining bathroom
#Guest bedroom 3 on lower level– Twin beds and it’s own separate bathroom
#Guest bedroom 4 on lower level – Twin beds sharing the shower bathroom
#Bedroom 5 on lower level – a bunkroom with 4 bunk beds, sharing the shower bathroom

All bathrooms have 220 electricity with 110 conversion for razors only. While there is no air-conditioning, all bedrooms have adequate fans.

Outdoor Facilities
Monyela Mountain Lodge has a spectacular infinity pool overlooking the Lowveld with majestic mountain views and rock formations. The lodge is fitted with two "braai" Boma areas with outdoor furniture, a private parking area as well as hiking trails. Birding is a wonderful pastime here, since 340 bird species has been recorded on the mountain range including one of the only 4 Taita breeding nests in South-Africa, a Black-Eagle nest is also in view of the Lodge.
