Situated on a large property under Milkwood trees at the foot of Fernkloof Nature Reserve and within walking distance to the beach. We offer luxury en-suite rooms with private patios and private entrances as well as a luxury one bedroom cottage (sleeps 4).
Milkwood Lodge is situated only 300 metres from Voëlklip and Grotto Beach. Grotto Beach has obtained “Blue Flag Status” and is considered a pristine beach. The Hermanus Golf Club is approximately 3 kms and the Arabella Golf Estate 22 kms. Stellenbosch and Franschoek approximately 100 kms, and Cape Town a mere 140 kms away. Hermanus is famous for watching whales from its cliff tops and is considered the best land based whale watching destination in the world. Milkwood Lodge is ideal to use as a base to visit surrounding areas and Hermanus offers lovely beaches, shops, galleries & restaurants. For the young at heart there are various activities available such as horseriding, sea kayaking, absailing, sunset lagoon cruises followed by evening barbeques, motorboats, canoes and paddle skis. Bicycles are also available for rental. 4 Star Guesthouse. Take a trip to Betty's Bay to see the penguins or take an excursion from Gansbaai to shark alley to view the Great White Shark feeding on the seals off Dyer Island. Enjoy the fine wines such as Hamilton Russell, Bouchard Finalayson and Cape Bay all produced locally.

Our accommodation have private patios and/or entrances.Some rooms have twin or kingsize beds and other rooms are ideal for families. The luxury one bedroomed cottage, serviced on a daily basis is fully equipped and is available on a selfcatering basis or breakfast included. The cottage has two additional day beds in the lounge/living area. All rooms are equipped with fridge, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, international plugs, wall safe, percale linen, large fluffy white towels as well as pool towels, heating and fan. Relax on your private patio or the large communal patios and enjoy the sunset with a flass of wine. Barbeque facilities available at swimming pool for guests use. Secure off street parking. Large secluded garden. Only minutes from Village Centre and Golf Club and within walking distance of two main swimming beaches and cliff path from where you can view the whales in season. Hermanus is known for the best landbased whale watching in the world, but it offers much more. A mere 1 hour from Cape Town International Airport it is ideally situated to use as a base to explore, Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Cape Town, L'Agulhas (the most Southern Tip of Africa).
There are a number of Golf courses, such as the Hermanus Golf Club, Arabella Golf Estate a mere 22 kms. away and a number of smaller golf courses. Hermanus has its own wine wander and the choice of restaurants offer a wide variety of food to suit everyone. Betty's Bay is only 40 minutes away where you can see the Penguins at Stoney Point and also visit the Harold Porter Botanical Garden.
