Should you be looking for a stunning destination in the KZN Midlands, set in a wooded glade on a trout dam, this is it. Forest Chalet offers absolute privacy, comfort and tranquility.
Our trout dam is fully stocked with up to 4kg trout. There are 9 grass karp in the dam too to keep the dam weed free.There are 2 rowing boats and a paddle ski available for your use on the dam.
We have a magic swimming pool on the dam waters edge.
Forest Chalet is situated on a Sport Horse Stud Farm breeding top competitive horses.
For Golfing fanatics Bosch Hoek Golfing Estate is right next door - so the course is 5 mins away.
For keen horse riders - Ihashi Horse Trials are 6km away where one is able to participate in organised horse riding trails throught spectacular forest plantations and magnificent scenery.
Forest Chalet is situated in the heart of the Midlands Meander. We offer a self catering venue however, should you decide to eat out there are numerous places to visit for a great meal.
Accommodation & Facilities
Forest Chalet offers 2 beautifully decorated chalets that can either accomodate 2,4 or 6 guests. The main chalet has 2 ensuite bedrooms - one with double bed and the second with twin beds. Both the ensuite bathrooms have heated towel rails and heaters for those icy winter mornings.
The living area has under tile heating and a beautiful cottage pane bay window overlookig the trout dam and swimming pool.
The fully equiped kitchen has a huge french door opening out onto the patio which makes the kitchen/eating area great for entertaining.
The second challet consists of a bedroom ensuite with shower basin and loo with a dressing room. This challet has no self catering facilities and takes the overflow from the main chalet.
Parking is provided in a double carport adjoining the main challet.
Braai facilities are provided and the chalet is serviced.
Outdoor Facilities
Forest Chalet is situated on a working Sport Horse Stud Farm. A visit to out barn is a must. recently completed we have an American style barn for our horses that are stabled every night.
Ihashi Horse riding trails are 6km away.
We adjoin Bosh Hoek Golfing Estate which boasts one of the most stunning golf courses.
Trout fishing on your door step with rowing boats on the dam for your use.
magic walks on our farm through the feilds.
Bird Life abounds being situated on the banks of a dam.
Sporting & Leisure Activities
February is Midmar Mile time and we're 17 km to Midmar.
The Vintage and Steam expo takes place at Nottingham Road and we're 10 mins to that.
Springvale Horse trials are 10 mins up the road.
Bosh Hoek Golfing Estate is 5 mins next door.
We have excellent resturants in the Howick area and Howick has all amienities ie banks, supermarkets and a medical center with private hospital, pharmacy and physio center and a fully equipped gym.
