Cultural & Historical interest
One hour's drive to Fort Hare University which houses the African National Congress's archives, Nelson Mandela's bead collection and a wonderful collection of work done by African artists.
There are numerous game reserves all within one hour's drive from Grahamstown.
Addo Elephant National Park lies 125 km away or only a slight detour if you are en route to Port Elizabeth.
Agriculture and animal farming is extensive while pineapple-growing is unique to the area.
The beautiful beaches of Kenton-on-Sea and Port Alfred is one hour's drive away.
Visit the Katberg area, which is close to the Hogsback area. Go for lovely walks and wake up in nature at its best.
