On the banks of the Komati River, at the base of a miniature Grand Canyon, this small village of thatched dwellings provides affordable luxury in a most dramatic setting.
2 ½ hours from Gauteng.
Accommodation in 6 luxury suites and two self-catering houses. The cosy pub and restaurant offers a good selection of South Africa’s favourite foods and wines. Activities include game viewing, exploring ancient ruins, fly fishing in 5km of river or 3 trout dams, hiking, walking and bird watching.
Accommodation & Facilities
Self catering:
Kingfisher Cottage and Zebra Cottage sleep 6 and 4 respectively. Both are fully equipped and serviced daily. Additional features are private braai areas, DSTV and fire place in the lounge.
Hotel Rooms
6 luxury hotel suite rooms boast fire places, corner baths, bar fridges, loundge area, private patio and DSTV. The rooms are elegantly furnished in dark wood with persian carpets, silk curtains and quality linen.

Breakfast room / private dining room with fire place
Cosy lounge with firplace
Conference facilities for up to 10 (not sharing).

Excellent yellowfish in 5km of Komati river offer the fly-fisherman a formidable challenge. Trout fising in 3 large dams
Boating, hiking, bird-watching, wildlife, river rafting (in season)
Volleyball, croquet, swimming, trampoline

Horse riding and game drives close by,
Plenty of indoor games, books, puzzles and quality magazines
The clean air offers excellent stargazing. See the rings of Saturn, Jupiter’s stripes and the moon’s craters with the help of a 105mm Meade telescope.
Drink sundowners on the veranda overlooking the Komati River or just relax in a hammock and do absolutely nothing….
