Houtkapperspoort offers 26 fully equipped, serviced cottages on the back slopes of Table Mountain. Most of the elegant and charming cottages featuring stone and timber have either air conditioning and/or fireplaces, M-Net TV, phone, meticulously landscaped gardens and parking. All the usual facilities including 24-hour security control, all weather court, solar heated pool and coin laundry.
The five star graded manor house has its own dish and clothes washing machines.
Houtkapperspoort has been adjudged the best self catering resort in SA by the industry benchmark AA Accommodation Guides Awards programme for the past two years and has been a finalist in its category in the region for the past 10 years.
The property borders Table Mountain National Park with all its mountain trails. It is 18 minutes to central Cape Town and the V&A Waterfront, 10 to the shopping centres of the Southern Suburbs and Hout Bay, and five to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

The four star cottages range in size from one bedroom to three bedrooms. The five star manor house has four bedrooms.

Sporting & Leisure Activities
Hout Bay harbour with its game fishing facilities is 10 minutes away as are gyms there and in Constantia. Golf courses are about 20 minutes away. There is a restaraunt on the doorstep. Other fine eating and wine estates of the area are minutes away. The resort is has direct access to the recently established hiking trail from Central Cape Town to Cape Point and makes an excellent stop-over point for the first night of this three to four day hike.
Cultural & Historical interest
Houtkapperspoort orginally supplied timber to the sailing vessels of yore. It is nearby Groote Constantia wine estate with its Cape antique displays.
