Haggard's Hilldrop B&B is situated approximately 4 km for the centre of town - Newcastle.
Therefore very central to all shops and restaurants for additional choice in food etc.
We are also located on a 3 Hectare indigenous forest which is a haven for our indigenous birds of which over 45 different species can be found including the Gymnogene which is endangered. All our bedrooms overlook our tranquil garden setting which is well maintained throughout the year. We have an Honesty Pub with a Handmade Hot Art Fire Place from Knysna overlooking our Sparking Pool and therefore offer Fully Licenced facilities. The Honesty Pub also includes a Pool Table/Lounge Area. Our Premises is secured with an Electric Gate entry with access given to guests only. All parking facilities is found at every room for most convenience. Parking facilites include under-cover parking. The original homestead which now hosts the Breakfast- and Dining areas as well as the Office and 3 Bedrooms, was declared a National Monument in 1981. Sir Rider Haggard, Famous Author of King Solomon's Mines, lived here once and many history are kept. The original homestead was also taken in consideration when building our bedrooms, although very modernly decorated. 3 of the 25 Bedrooms are kept modern, but with all the history containing to the era that Sir Rider Haggard once left behind. Haggard's Hilldrop B&B are privately owned and run by the same owners for the last 8 years namely Andre & Lelanie Joubert.

Accommodation & Facilities
We offer 25 Luxury En-Suite Rooms. All rooms offer airconditioning facilities with modern finishings. The airconditioning facilities are for cooling and heating. We also offer family accommodation for up to 5 family members. Our rooms also contain coffee/tea/hot chocolate facilities. Every room has a TV with M-Net. All rooms are on ground level with their own entrances for privacy. All rooms are en-suite and most are fitted with bath and shower facilities where others are only fitted with shower facilities. Every room overlooks a garden setting and there are rooms with a private balcony overlooking our 3 hectare indigenous forrest. All rooms have parking facilities at the room. We offer full English and Continental Breakfasts 7 days a week. We also offer fresh ground coffee at breakfast which is enjoyed by every coffee lover early in the morning. Hearty South African meals are prepared by our Chef David Mazibuko which has been with us with the last 8 years from Mondays to Thursdays. We do proper South African braai's every now and then for the keen visitor to enjoy real South African hospitality. As the Establishment is run by the actual owners, service is personal and homely. We offer you a home away from home without the frills attached.
