Addo Elephant Park is located in a malaria free area.

The park features a diverse and wide variety of game viewing, outdoor adventure and cultural experiences. The variety of landscapes and wildlife species will leave you with an impression of South Africa that will stay with you forever. Few parks provide you with an opportunity to see such diversity in one area.
At Addo Elephant Park, not only can you see the big 5 which are the elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo, but you will also soon be able to see whales and great white sharks!
A proposed expansion of the park will make the park have 372,000 hectares of park land plus 120,000 hectares of marine sanctuary!

Addo Farm makes an ideal location to stay at while visiting the park.

What To Expect At Addo Elephant Park: Black-backed Jackals howl at night while the francolin's call heralds each new dawn.
The original Elephant section of the park was created in 1931. At this time, there were only 11 elephants remaining in the area. Today however, there are over 350 elephants, 280 cape buffalo, black rhino, a variety of antelope species along with the unique flightless dung beetle which is found almost exclusively in the park. Thanks to the conservation efforts, the grey leviathans of the bush now roam in peace and are safe from their past persecution.
At visit to Addo Elephant Park will provide you with:
Rich heritage of archaeological and historical sites
Five of South Africa's seven major vegetation zones
