Chislehurst is a small, private guest house minutes from the Rivonia business district, shops and restaurants, close to Sandton City and principal conference venues and just 20 minutes from Johannesburg International Airport.
Roger and Jenny Shepherd offer charming private en-suite accomodation with distinctive decor, separate entrance and private parking.
Accommodation & Facilities
Amenities include small private patio at entrance with bistro table and chairs, large bedroom cum sitting room with queen size bed, sofa, wing chair, coffee table and small desk/dining table. Heater and cooling fan, clock radio, alarm. Large television with full DSTV. Separate compact kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, tea/coffee making facilities, all crockery, cutlery etc. Separate dressing room with well lit vanity unit with hairdryer, wardrobe with hanging space and cupboard with shelving and safe for valuables. Large bathroom with generous bath, separate shower overlooking private courtyard, double vanity unit, and bidet.
The rooms are serviced daily and a full English or continental breakfast is included.
Access to the pool area where breakfast may be served, or alfresco in the main courtyard.
Laundry and dry cleaning services are available on request.
Air transfers, car hire and personal tour planning can be arranged on request. Jenny Shepherd is an accredited Gauteng tour guide.

Cultural & Historical interest
Next road to Liliesleaf Farm, used as a hideaway meeting place by the ANC when underground, and where Nelson Mandela lived for a while disguised as the gardener. 20 minute drive from the Apartheid Museum and Gold Reef City, built on the site of the first gold mine on the Reef. Now a theme village with trips down the mine. A short drive on is Soweto, the largest black township. Sightseeing tours. Nearby is the Cradle of Humankind, home to Mrs Ples, said to be the oldest remains ever found, a World Heritage Site. Nelson Mandela's present home in Houghton, a nearby suburb which is close to a number of Herbert Baker mansions, which were home to the great 'Randlords'.
