Barberton Manor Guest House, built in 1927 after a Sir Herbert Baker design, is a National Heritage and still in it's original state, but offers modern day comfort.

The spacious bed and breakfast in Mpumalanga, is situated close to Swaziland (40 km), 60 km from Kruger National Park and 45 km from Nelspruit (Kruger Int. Airport).
Barberton, a small town nestled in the Makwonja Mountainshas a rich history: in the 1880's gold was found at Eureka City which turned this small settlement into a booming town.
It also is a place of geological interest: 3.5 billion years ago the earliest lifeforms on earth lived in this area. Their fossils can be found in the rocks around Barberton and attract many scientists every year.
Barberton, being the undiscovered gem of the Lowveld - ‘the Wild Frontier’ -, offers many attractions: hiking trails, scenic drives, visiting a gold mine, the Heritage Walk (starting at the museum) to name a few.
Also, we are sponsoring the webpresence of the Barberton Bird Club.
Accommodation & Facilities
We can offer you three individual rooms. All rooms have a bathroom en suite.
In 2001, when we bought the house, we restored the interior: all Birma teak doors and Oregon pine floors got their original looks and feel back. We completely painted the house, out and indoors, bringing back the classic elegance and grandeur, providing you with a tranquil ambiance.
Our rooms are named after biblical\historical figures related to gold:
King of Bafuri room:
Luxury Double Room, two single beds, bathroom en-suite,satellite television (DSTV & M-Net), ceiling fan, sleeps 2 max.
King Salomon room:
Superior Double Room, two single beds as a double and a double bed, bathroom en-suite, satellite television (DSTV & M-Net), ceiling fan, sleeps 4 max.
Queen of Sheba room:
Exclusive Double Room, two double beds, bathroom en-suite, satellite television (DSTV & M-Net), ceiling fan, sleeps 4 max.
Outdoor Facilities
We provide off street, secured parking.
A botanical garden (with pool) of approx. 2 hectares is surrounding the guest house.
