5 Palms Cottage is a self catering apartment with an upmarket feel that fits the budget of the average income earner. It is perfectly positioned in the sense that it is only- :
4 blocks from the beach (thus walking distance);
1,7km from the golf course;
3,1km from a huge shopping mall (Somerset Mall);
3,8km from the N2 (National road to Cape Town);
20 minutes drive to Cape Town, Western Cape South Africa.
5 Palms Cottage is situated in the Strand North area which is the safer suburb of the Strand.
The owners have the vision that a fully booked apartment is a better asset than an overpriced one and thus they try their utmost to keep the rates reasonable from low to peak season.
The Helderberg area (surrounding the Strand) has numerous entertainment and leisure possibilities and is also ideal for guests that love sea-life, golfing in a small town environment (but also close to Cape Town City).
Accommodation & Facilities
5 Palms Cottage is a fully enclosed property that consists of 2 upmarket cottages. The one cottage consists of two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, scullery, family room, kitchen/dining area and a separate toilet. The other cottage is a one bedroom cottage.
Both Cottages will be cleaned every third day. Towels and linen will be replaced on the same day.
The Double Rooms: This spacious room consists of the following:
1x King size extra length bed
2x pedestals with bed lights
Wall mounted TV with a DSTV-satellite connection from the lounge
Remote controlled air-conditioning
100% Cotton Percale Linen (395 count)
Towels and Bath Mats provided
1 x Hairdryer
Luxury Twin Rooms: Room consists of the same features as above with the following differences:
2 x single extra length beds which can be joined to form a King size bed (when joining the beds, a mattress-overlay is used which causes the hard edges of the mattresses to go unnoticed when sleeping on it)
Kitchen: The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary cutlery and crockery for 6 persons as well as a fridge/freezer, microwave and a hob and oven. The necessary smaller appliances include a kettle, sandwich toaster, coffee perculator etc.
Scullery: The scullery is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. An iron and ironing board is at your disposal.
Bathroom: The bathroom consists of a basin, bath, shower and a mirror cabinet.
Toilet: The toilet is practically separate from the bathroom.
Safe: Each room is equipped with a small electronic safe with an interior measurement of approximately 34cm x 24cm x 24cm.
Outdoor Facilities
Garden: A small garden with lawn of approximately 25m² exists next to the front entrance.
Barbeque: There is a typical South African style mobile barbeque on the lawn for use.

There exist many sport and leisure activities in the area. The following is just a few:

Cultural & Historical interest
- Come and experience the 250 year old Oxwaggon tracks carved in stone on the Sir Lowries Pass Mountains near the Strand.
- Visit the historical 'Vergelegen Wine Estate' for a picnic and other activities.
- Between 10 and 35 km's you will find many Museums, Wine estates, historical buildings to visit.

There are two semi-attached self catering cottages each with there own private entrance. The one cottage has one bedroom and the other is a two bedroom cottage.
Everything upmarket with fine finishes. |
